As I see a strange plant or animal, I wonder, what is that? How come it looks like that? Yes, I do consider myself a scientist because when I see an animal or something of the like, I ask myself questions about what I see. If, I find an interesting plant, I like to examine it more closely and try to find out why it looks like that. I also enjoy observing animals like deer and antelope, if I find them, when I go up to our cabin. I try to find out where they are going, if they are in a herd, and what they are doing. I also like to test and mix chemicals together and see how they react. Especially in the summer, I observe and infer about the life around me. Whether I am up at my family's cabin, at swim meet, hanging out with friends, or just laying outside in my backyard, I wonder about the things going on around me. What type of bug is that and where is it going? Why is that plant alive and the other one dead? Did the dead one get sprayed with weed killer and the alive one did not? During the school year, I also observe and infer in everyday life. I observe my teachers writing the homework or notes on the board and I can infer that if we are studying a certain unit and we will have little quizzes on it, and that there will be an end of the unit test. I also enjoy watching the stars and searching for planets. Since I ask myself questions about animals and plants I see, and other related items, I believe that I am a scientist.
